Emergency situations, pertaining to life hazards and to risks for the premises require special attention from the viewpoint of information technology: updated and independent information has to be supplied on time and to the required location for quickest possible decision-making. Near real-time space imagery is required for monitoring and forecasting of a great number of emergencies (fires, floods, etc.), in most cases to be compared with archive data.
Primary task of the section
The session is dedicated to the exchange of experience in using remote sensing, to the discussion of corporate, regional, federal and international cooperation plans in this field both for the current risk management and emergencies mitigation activities. Leading specialists from Emercom, RAO UES (Unified Electric Power Systems), JSC Russian Railways, major corporations, regional administrations and insurance companies, as well as experts of the international level are invited to take part in the conference.
